Alieu Sowe is the founder and country director of Give1Project, Gambia. Sowe is also a seasoned community development activist extending over 20 years of service. He has co-founded many nonprofit organizations in the Gambia and abroad. He has successfully coordinated international fellowship programs in Senegal, France, UK and The US. Sowe has traveled extensively and attended many conferences on a wide range of issues affecting his community. He currently coordinates a digital rights advocacy project that focuses on internet freedom. He presented The Give1Project Gambia and Stakeholders’ position paper on digital rights and access to information law and other laws relating to freedom of expression during 3rd cycle of the Universal Periodic Review of The Gambia at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
